Monday 2nd, 3pm
I'm glad to see my timing is still perfect....15minutes after mummy went shopping I decided to give my lungs a good workout. Daddy said something about his ears, but I couldn't hear him for the noise I was making.
Tuesday 3rd
Today I had a go in my new play nest from Debbie. I tried to punch that weird fish on the nose but couldn't quite reach it. It had better watch out next time!
Whilst I was playing I noticed some machine had attached itself to mummy. And it was stealing all my milk! Next thing I know, Daddy is giving me this plastic booby to drink from. I wonder if he's got two of them too?! But hey, it seemed to taste the same, so I'm not complaining (too much!).
Friday 6th
Mummy managed to dismantle the Christmas tree today, which is more than she did yesterday. Somehow I'm managing to keep mummy very busy...
Monday 9th / Tuesday 10th
It's official. I'm on #2 size nappies. I'm either growing fast or just filling them more. Had my first good night in ages. On Tuesday the health visitor came round and weighed me. 10lbs! (4.5kg). Would you believe it!
Wednesday 11th
Went to see where mummy works today. It was nice of everyone not to do any work and just give me loads of cuddles instead!
On Thursday I discovered that I can almost fit my hands in my mouth. I'll have to keep trying.
Friday 13th
Mummy was feeling really tired, so I decided to smile at her today. Easy when you know how!
On Saturday we went for a walk, well, I was dangling from the sling, getting jolted about till I fell asleep.
Monday 16th
Another well timed scream as mummy went out in the evening. I'm getting too good at this! But the 100ml of defrosted milk soon got me settled. I wonder if it also comes in ice-lolly form?
Wednesday 18th - Thursday 19th
I saw daddy sneak out of the house at 5.30am. Then mummy got up with the alarm at 7.30! Amazing... something was definitely up. Then I heard Grandad and Pok had arrived, Yippee!!
After a lot of
cuddles I nodded off. But I still managed to go to the pub for lunch, drive around Cambridge and go for a walk by the college backs!! |
On Thursday Grandad and Pok went to London. So mummy and I went to the postnatal group. I never knew other babies could scream more than me!
Friday 20th
Today my Great Grandma arrived! That's 4 generations on 1 sofa! She gave me a really fancy outfit, a Burberry jacket and jeans no less. Now I'm posher than mum and dad!
Of course, Grandad and 'petit Oma' were both vying to hold me in their arms. The trouble with being so comfortable is that I keep nodding off!
Saturday 21st
Today we went to a pub I hadn't tried before, in Grantchester, for lunch, followed by a nice walk along the river. Grandad and petit Oma then bought me a travel cot, so I can sleep wherever we go. Not that I don't do that already!
Then we were waiting for my Great Aunt Judith, Charly, Josephine and Charlène to arrive! With a full house I just knew that the Champagne couldn't be far away...(☺!)
On the Sunday we met up at the hotel for a walk around Cambridge. Everyone looked like they were freezing cold, which is strange because I was really cozy and warm in my pushchair!
Then it was back to our place for some tea and a cuddle.

Tuesday 24th | |
On Monday we took it easy, and mummy had a little nap whilst petit Oma looked after me. She also showed me how to play Canasta, but I'm sure the rules kept changing! | Unfortunately, on Tuesday everyone had to leave so I was up most of the night to make sure we got up early to say goodbye. It was so nice to see everyone! |
Wednesday 25th
I was feeling great today after a good night's sleep, but for some reason we had to go to the doctor. Then she got the biggest needles you ever saw and stabbed me in the leg. Twice! But I only screamed a bit, honest!
Thursday 26th
Today we went to the post natal group where we did some baby massage, which was great because I didn't have to do anything! I just kept my eye on the boy next to me...☺
Then it was time to get weighed again, though I demand a recount: 11lb 3oz (5kg) !!!!
Later Daddy brewed up some formula milk to try. Well, I can believe it's not real milk. Bit yuk at room temperature! (ok, so what if I guzzled the rest once it was warmed up!).
Saturday 28th
Two months old today! There's a pile of clothes I've outgrown, and now I don't even fit into Sam's carry cot anymore. As I'm already 57cm tall, I've worked out that I'll be over 6 meters tall by the time I'm twenty. Luckily my new travel cot should last me a while yet!
Now I know I have lots of pictures taken of me, but on Sunday I was really just not ready to have my passport photo taken. Maybe next time...
On Tuesday mummy took me to see her Yoga friends, with lots of babies to play with. I hope you've enjoyed reading my diary so far!
